Karen Talavera - Savvy and Spitfire

Karen Talavera is a change agent. As an entrepreneur, writer, mother and world traveler, she draws on the rich and usually overlooked experiences of daily life to illuminate opportunities for awakening, share her perspective on living from spirit, and highlight insights hidden in plain sight.  She writes about this and more on her blog The Accidental Seeker and on Huffington Post.

In 2003 Karen founded Synchronicity Marketing, a company specializing in digital marketing training, coaching, and education. After twenty years in the field, she grows continually more fascinated by the revolutionary role the Internet has played in the way we connect to one another.  

With over two decades of experience in data-driven, direct response digital marketing Karen has been praised as “a pioneer in bringing the power of email marketing to the forefront” and “diligent in staying on top of her field, mastering email marketing not just as a specific practice but also in conjunction with social media and other digital channels”.

Karen’s unique blend of digital expertise and finely honed direct response marketing mindset has delivered enhanced marketing performance and improved strategy for clients ranging from Google, NASCAR, Bank of the West, Disney, Foremost Insurance, City National Bank, National Instruments and the Chicago Convention and Tourism Bureau to agencies, associations and small businesses.

Karen is well known in the email marketing arena as both an educator and industry leader. She is a board member of the Email Experience Council (EEC) of the Direct Marketing Association (DMA), as well as a professional educator and in-company trainer for the DMA.

In 2000 she launched and continues to teach email marketing seminars and certification programs for the DMA. She is also an instructor for the Association of National Advertisers (ANA), eConsultancy, and MarketingProfs. Throughout her tenure teaching for these and other organizations, Karen has trained thousands of marketing professionals, agencies and business owners on the legal and strategic use of email and related digital channels for maximizing new business, retaining customers and growing revenue.

Karen is an alumnus of the University of Michigan, speaks Spanish and enjoys international travel. In her spare time, you’ll find her enjoying South Florida life and pursuing one of her many passions including yoga, meditation and the great outdoors.
