Leigh Weinraub - Powerful and Inspiring
What are your “and” words and why? POWERFUL and INSPIRING. My 6 feet of athletic stature and my willingness to speak truth with an authentic and bold voice makes me feel powerful and land on others powerfully. Several years ago I created a tennis workshop integrating psychology onto the court… you could say I am kinda like the TENNIS WHISPERER or TENNIS DOCTOR. After teaching thousands of students how to improve their tennis game (and lives) I am began to read personality traits from the first lesson I would teach. Let’s just say that my most natural game style on the court was based on being POWERFUL (unfortunately, I wasn't the most consistent however!)
The greatest moment for as a therapist and coach is to bear witness to that instant when my students surprise themselves with an accomplishment they thought impossible; when they access their inner strength; when they realize that a focused mind has the power to overcome their challenges. There is no greater reward for me. Success in my life is driven by my passion to inspire others. I want to be an agent of inspiration and motivation for as many people possible. My goal is to bring out the champion inside of everyone .
What you are known for saying / a quote from you. What does this quote mean to you, (or if it’s from someone else, why does it inspire you)? “Changing the world one word at a time” … it’s the tagline to my company and my email signature. I believe that the words we say matter and when we turn them into action and create positive momentum, anything is possible. My entire company is based on the power of the choosing the words we want to live by.
Which other Ladybadasses inspire you and why? MY MOM IS THE MOST REMARKABLE AND EXTRAORDINARY LADYBADASS TO WALK THE PLANET. No words could suffice my description of her. She is the modern day Mother Theresa. Her heart, compassion, and generosity is infinite. I believe all humans struggle with fears and they then develop their own intricate ways of defending against, coping with, or facing their fears. When I look at my mother, I see a woman who always choose LOVE as the solution. Her Ladybadassness comes from her willingness and capacity to lead with LOVE above all else.
When did you first realize that you had some Ladybadassery in you? When I serendipitously got connected on a call with some cool chick named Joanna Bloor :) This is a really rough question for me, because I keep thinking about the countless external events that externally validated my gifts. But I think I actually knew it on a deeper internal level when I was a young girl and I could feel my gift of seeing people, getting people, inspiring people, and touching people in life’s small moments. I did'’t have the word Ladybadass in my lexicon but I knew I had something special inside me to give to the world.
What keeps you motivated on days when you aren't quite feeling like a Ladybadass? WALKING WALKING WALKING and MORE WALKING … in NATURE! This seems to be the best medicine for me.
What is your advice to other women who are trying to tap into their Ladybadassery? I say this often in my work : “live to give, not wake to take” and I believe it’s such a simple and powerful way to create a meaningful life. I would say to these women that I KNOW with 100% conviction that a Ladybaddass-giving source exists inside them.
1. Start a (never ending) process walking / talking it out with supportive people to help you understand what you truly want to GIVE with clear description (this is not an easy first step).
2. Get clear on "HOW YOU WANT TO MAKE OTHERS FEEL” by giving this gift
3. Figure out exactly who you want to give it to.
4. Know that the world needs your gifts
5. GO. GIVE. IT.
6. NEVER STOP
